The World of WearableArt is a creative show that takes art of the walls and adorns the body. The show is performed annually in Wellington and managed from the Nelson head office. Downing Design designed and managed the construction this Drupal (CMS) site. The site serves as the main communication tool for the show.  The main functions are to sell all of the tickets for the show and provide a central point of contact for designers.

Website Development Services

When a visitor comes to your website they are there because they have chosen to be. At this point they have given you permission to talk to them - that is a privellege we understand and respect. What happens in those few seconds when they are looking at your home page is vital to the sucess of your web site. Is there enough on your web site to make them stay? Is your offer strong enough for them to make the next steps to buying your product or service? This is where we can help you create a website that helps you grow your business. We have been developing websites since 1996 and over that time have created a process of building websites that help our clients to get the best results out of their investment on the web.

Here is a simple over view of what we do:

1. Discovery: This is the research phase. We meet with you to discuss your objectives for the website, the types of customers that you are aiming to reach, the kind of values that you most want to represent, any of your existing ideas for look and colour, etc. What is your product or service and if you have any unique benefits to offer a customer.

2. Strategy: We then compile this research and prepare a plan on how the web site should be structured. At this stage we decide the best platform on which to build the site. What are the key messages that need to be conveyed. What content needs to be developed. You will be presented with a strategy summary document that sets out the guidelines of how the site will operate.

3. Content Development: This where we start to gather content in the form of words and images. Our designers start to create the look of the site and how visitors will navigate around the site. You will be presented with concepts for approval at this stage.

4. Building: This involves turning concepts into actual web pages. It may mean setting up databases to manage information, setting up CMS so you can update the web site your self or creating special computer code to perform tailor-made functions. This is the more technical side of web site development. The outcome of this stage is for you to see a development site for eyes only to test and approve.

5. Transfer: This is where the site is made to go live. You may need some training at this stage to learn how to update the site if you have chosen this option.
